A superfood is essentially defined as a food that is high in antioxidants and has higher than normal concentrations of crucial phyto nutrients. Many of these have been proven to help prevent and in some cases, reverse the effects of aging. Most superfoods contain rare trace minerals and other cellular materials and should contain most of the 8 essential amino acids that are used to create all the proteins our body needs.
